Toy Story Birthday Invitations

My nephew LOVES Toy Story, so I volunteered to make his birthday invitations.

Recipe:
5.75" x 5.75" - brown cardstock
5.5" x 5.5" - yellow cardstock
5.5" x 5.5" - white cardstok
5.25" x 5.25" - red cardstock
4.75" - Woody and all of his parts

Once I find out all of the "where's" and "when's" I will type it all up and run 5.5" x 5.5" white cardstock through my printer then adhere it to the back of the card.

Thanks for looking,
Melissa

*****EDIT*****
Well, just so everyone knows. According to my post office, cards this size cost more to mail. It weighs as a 44 cent card, but because it is an "odd size" you have to add an additional 20 cents, so be prepared to spend 64 cents to mail a 6 x 6 card/envelope. I found out the hard way as a bunch of my Christmas cards were returned for additional postage.

Etched Glass Blocks

It has been a very busy around here. Here are a few glass blocks I made for Christmas presents this year. I made a total of 15 of these blocks. Sorry, I didn't take pictures of them all, but here a few. I designed all of my images on the Gypsy, cut them on vinyl and applied etching cream.

Happy Thanksgiving - Vinyl

I ordered some vinyl from CraftVinyl. It is very nice quality vinyl and I highly recommend them. Anyway. this is my front screen door. I just wanted to do something simple. Well, it is NOT simple to layer vinyl!!! It was next to impossible to keep the air bubbles out, let alone line things up. I don't think I did too bad considering it was my first time trying to do this.

Recipe:
Turkey - Create A Critter Turkey - all parts cut at 11.10"
Happy Thanksgiving - MS Seasonal Cake Art - cut at 6.45"
Gypsy (of course)

With Sympathy

My daughter recently had a death in her extended family. Sympathy cards are not my favorite to create. I always second guess myself as to what is appropriate. Well, this is what I came up with.

Recipe:

Card: Stock 5 x 7 card kit, cut to a 5" x 6.75"
Black cardstock - cut at 5" x 6.75"
White cardstock - cut at 5" x 6.75"
Martha Stewart punch around the page - Double Loops
Cuttlebug folder - Victoria
Embossed White cardstock - 4" x 5.75"
Black ribbon
Oval "with sympathy" tag - created on the Gypsy (using TBBM)
"with sympathy" stamp from Michael's $1.00 bin

Inside card - I looked up some card verses on the internet and found one I really liked, so I copied it and pasted it into a 5 x 7 WORD document, then printed it on my home computer.

Another reason I've been so busy ....

my Granddaughter .....

My daughter and granddaughter live with us. My daughter works nights so that we don't have to put the baby in daycare. I work a full time day job, so my evenings are spent "playing" and not scrapping .... but that's okay. LOL

Below is a current picture of our precious granddaughter (my daughter has requested that I not post any direct shots of her). She is now 7 1/2 months old and getting into EVERYTHING ... I'm beginning to think that she isn't going to crawl and will just start off walking, or maybe even running! LOL

Busy, Busy, Busy ....

Man .... things around here have been very busy.

The beginning of October was our high school's homecoming. Since I haven't moved away from the community, it is always a GREAT time to run into people from high school!!

This year was extra special. It was the 30th reunion of our Color Guard. For those of you who may not know, the color guard are the members of the marching band who perform using flags and rifles (and other things as well). Well, I was a member of our Color Guard when I was in high school ... those are my best memories from high school!!!

Ok, so we ended up marching in our homecoming parade behind the current marching band and it was GREAT! We even did a routine, so everytime the band played the school song we did our routine. It was so wonderful to hear everyone cheer us on, and at times it was so loud we couldn't hear the band.

Afterwards we had lunch and had time to sit and visit and look at old pictures. We hope to do it again some day.

This years turn out was approximately 50 reunion guard members, ranging in age from 51 to 19.

Treat Box - She's a Sassy Lady

Many thanks to Sheila at She's a Sassy Lady for her Gypsy Made Simple tutorial on her blog on how to create this treat box. I've had my Gypsy since May and am loving it, though I am no where near as talented as many of the gals/guys on the Circut Message Board. Thanks so much to all of you for sharing your creations and never hesitating in sharing your "how to" knowledge.

Anyway on to my version of the treat box. Thanks again Sheila at She's a Sassy Lady for your new series!

If you would like to make this super easy box, just go see Sheila at She's a Sassy Lady and she will walk you through!

Happy John Deere Birthday

My nephew is turning 3. It is hard to believe ... it seems like yesterday that he was born! I love him so much, he is so much like his Dad!! Anyway, he is having a JOHN DEERE party at the bowling alley, it should be fun!

Above is the front (on the right) and back (on the left) of the card. I thought it he would think it was cool to be able to open it all the way up and have a tractor pulling a wagon.

Recipe:
Tractor - Everyday Paper Dolls - cut at 5.71" x 3.97" (cut 3 times, one in black, one in green, and one in yellow/gold)

Rectangle - Gypsy Wandersing - 5.64" x 3.28" (welded to tractor to create card)

Wagon - Paper Doll Dress Up - 6.87" x 9.50" (cut 3 times, one in black, one in green and one in yellow/gold)

Hay Bales - Old West - 2.79" x 1.47"

Dirt - torn brown cardstock

Trick or Treat Treatbags

I know ... it is a little early to be working on treatbags, but when I have a minute to work on something I jump on it. I designed the toppers, on my Gypsy, using all 15 of the pumpkin faces from the Pumpkin Carving cartridge. I live in a very small town and get less than 15 trick or treaters, so this was not a huge undertaking.

Recipe:
Each topper is 8" x 4.75" (real dial size)
Treat Bags - 4" x 2" x 9.5"

Thinking of You

This card was one of my "just playing" creations. I'm not entirely sure I like it, but decided to post it anyway. This was all created on the Gypsy.

Recipe:
Card - Just Because Cards - 10" x 7" (real dial size)
Sunflower window - Just Because Cards - 2.9" x 3"
Layers: Sunflower (and corresponding layers) - 1.19" x 4.5"
Thinking of You (shadow) - Gypsy Wanderings - 3.74" x 2"
Thinking of You - Gypsy Wanderings - 3.62" x 2"
Ok, the "O" in the word "of" was a flower which didn't really work with my sunflower card, so I used the layer of the sunflower to cover the the "O/flower" in the word "of" and welded that to the saying, and then layered it up and popdotted it off of the card. I also used some chalks to "dirty" it up a little.
