Get WHALE Soon

My aunt just had surgery so I created this card to send to her to help cheer her up during her recovery.

Recipe:
5 x 7 card (prepackaged card & envelope)
Bubble Mat - 4.75" x 6.75"
Whale - cut from Create a Critter - cut at 5"
Textile Cuttlebug folder (top layer/layer 2 only)
Wording done on Gypsy using Plantin Schoolbook (cut at 1.14" height)

Happy 4th of July!

With Independence Day just around the corner, I created these treatbags for the ladies in my office.

Recipe:
White cardstock cut 4" x 4" (then fold in half)
Flag Banner from Old West Cricut Cartridge (cut at 1.92 inches using Gypsy)
Created banners using the Gypsy. I used the hide contour feature and was able to design each color (ie: red, white, blue) on seperate mats/layers.
Small Treatbags from Hobby Lobby (3.75" x 6")
M&M's (42 oz for 15 treatbags) - I used 1/3 cup of M & M's per treatbag

In Memory ....

My mother-in-law passed away in May 2009 of MS.  She was truly a wonderful lady.  It was really hard for my family as we had lost my father-in-law in 2005 to cancer, my mother in 2006 to a massive heart attack, and my grandmother in 2008 to COPD.  My mother-in-law was our Village (around 300 people) mayor for 28 years.  At her funeral one of the Village Trustee got up and told some funny stories and talked about what a wonderful woman she was and that the night before the Village Board had voted (unanimously) to rename the Village Hall in my mother-in-law’s honor.  It was a HUGE shock to all of us.  This past Saturday the Mayor had our family come to the Village Hall to present us with the Resolution renaming the Village Hall and the plaque that now adorns the Village Hall.  There was a reporter there from our local paper who took pictures of us with the Mayor and Village Trustees and interviewed my husband.  I am anxious to read the article when it comes out in the paper.  It was very nice to have all of us together to experience this.  After the little ceremony we all went to lunch at a local Italian restaurant (about 20 of us).  It was wonderful day!

I'm still here!

Sorry I haven’t posted anything in a while.  Things have been pretty crazy here.  My daughter is a single mom, of a precious 3 month old, and works nights and still lives at home (mind you I work full time also).  So my evenings have been consumed with taking care of my precious granddaughter.  I did have some time this past weekend to empty out my scrap room (which had become a “drop zone” for many boxes from baby items) and reconfigure it, so hopefully it will be a little more user friendly.  I have played a little with the new Cricut LITES (that I said I was only going to buy 2 of and have ended up with 4).  I am anxious to get these on my Gypsy so I can REALLY play.

I have started a card that I will be sending to my best friend from high school who just had her second baby, so I will be posting it as soon as I find the time to finish it. (LOL)  It seems to be taking me a long time to get anything “accomplished” these days.  A simple card that I would normally whip up in an hour is now taking me 3 days … oh well, I wouldn’t trade my time with my granddaughter for anything!

Take care!

Melissa

WordBook

This is my first chipboard album/wordbook.  I designed it on my Gypsy.  I am going to put pictures of my kids in it for my husband for Father's Day.
