Easter Card 4: Bunny in a Basket

Recipe:
A2 card
Pink mat @ 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"
Printed mat @ 4" x 5.25"
Purple mat @ 5" from Elegant Edges (button 5)
Bunny in a Basket & all parts @ 4" from Baby Steps (button 41)

A very special thank you to Glora at Glora's Crafts for helping me figure out this cut.

I contacted Glora and asked her about, what appeared to me to be, 2 missing egg cuts. She agreed and said that she had recut her base cut for one of the eggs and hand traced the other one. Me? .... well I am a little lazy and I usually mass produce my cards to send to family. So, I went to my handy-dandy Gypsy and sized the "green" egg cut to fit (for the yellow and plaid egg).

Valentine 4

The idea for this card came from here. I was in the process of looking through my Lyrical Letters cartridge (in order to make the inspiration card) when I came across this heart and thought it would make a great Valentines card.

Recipe:
A2 card
Red Mat/rectangle @ 4" x 5.25" from George
Framed Heart @ 4" (hide outside cut with Gypsy and layer onto the 4" x 5.25" rectangle. Group the two cuts and weld together.)
Heart @ 3.5". Emboss. Ink edges with Rhubarb Stalk (Momento). Layer on top of original heart with pop dots.
Tiny Hearts embossing folder (The Paper Studio).

Embossing Folders

I saw someone online make these tags for their embossing folders and of course had to give it a go.
Here are all of my tags/embossing folders. I love having them on this ring. I keep it hanging close by so I can look through it when I am making my cards.
I write the name of the embossing folder on the tag before embossing the tag.
I love that Provo Craft is now printing the name of the embossing folders on them. My folders that don't have the pre-printed name on them have a label from my label maker. Of course all of my embossing folders are in alphabetical order (as are all of my sample tags).
I created my tags using my Gypsy and Plantin SchoolBook. As you can see, I can fit 5 tags on a 8.5" x 11" piece of paper by cutting my tags at 4.8". I keep a ring of blank tags ready at all times (because I am constantly picking up new folders).

I hope you give this a try.

Man's Shirt Pocket Card

I saw this card on Pinterest and had to give it a go. You can find the pattern here. I created my pocket and collar on my Gypsy.

Recipe:
A2 card
Gypsy - weld a square and a triangle to create shirt pocket from George & Basic Shapes. After looking at TBBM, I notice I could have manipulated a tag (blackout - button number six) - that probably would have been a lot easier (lol).
For the collar I used a triangle from Wild Card.
Faux stitching using a white Uni-ball Signo pen.
Buttons from the dollar bin at Michael's.
Silver brads for the pocket rivets.

Ribbon Organizer

I had an absolute ribbon mess after making all of my Christmas cards and starting on my Valentine cards. I couldn't find anything, and once I found what I wanted it was all tangled up in knots.

I was complaining about my ribbon mess to my friend Rhonda on Monday, and she showed me what she uses, though she couldn't remember where she bought it (she thought maybe eBay). She then said that Kimberly at My Craft Spot had a cut file on her blog for something similar to what she uses. I, of course, had to go and check it out.

Besides the cut file, Kimberly also has some excellent instructions on her blog on how to do it yourself. You can find her wonderful instructions here. Kimberly cut hers out of cardstock. Knowing myself, I would have those shredded before too long. I had saved several clamshells from my Cricut cartridges and decided to use those instead. I could fit 3 ribbon holders per "sheet" of clamshell material.

Close up of cut clamshell material.

All of my organized ribbon.

Close up of ribbon on hangers.

Thank you Kimberly for the wonderful instructions, and thank you Rhonda for pointing me in that direction!!!

Valentine's Day Card - 3

This is the card I made for card club at my LSS.

Recipe:
A2 card
"HUGS" heart cut at 1.2" on the Gypsy from the Simply Charmed cartridge.
Bug & all parts (except its heart) cut at 3" from the Simply Charmed cartridge.
Tag was created using Tags, Bags, Boxes & More and George. I used a tag from TBBM on the Gypsy at 2.19" x 1.25". When I made the tag this size the slits for the ribbon to go through were way too long, and it caused the tag to slide up and down too much. I created my own "slits" with rectangles from George. The slits were created at 0.05" x 0.5".
